A Welcome and an Introduction

A bunch of Laughlins soaking up our 2025 family vacation in Pensacola, Florida—memories in the making

We’re so glad you’re here. I’m excited to use this space to tell my story and explore ideas that matter to me—personally, creatively, and professionally.

For much of my career, I’ve lived in the world of data—SQL, Power BI, DAX, Access—you name it. I’m the guy who can sort through mountains of information, find the patterns, and translate them into something clear and useful. I’ve always loved the challenge of making complex things digestible and meaningful.

Photography is the cheapest, most effective way to travel back in time. Just one look at an old photograph can transport you back to that point in time.

Candidly? I’m a bit of a geek. I get joy out of crunching numbers and visualizing stories buried in the data. It turns out, that same skill—the ability to see and tell a story—is what pulled me into photography. What began as an interest became a passion, and now it’s an extension of how I interpret the world.

Photography adds a new layer to how I connect with people and moments. Through a camera lens, we get to capture those fleeting seconds—the kind that tell the truth even when words fall short. A photo is a kind of story, just without the charts.

At first, the idea of writing a blog felt…a bit ridiculous. Who am I to assume anyone cares what I have to say? But the truth is, writing helps me process. It clears the mental logjam and gives shape to the creative chaos.

So here we are—camera in hand, heart open, stories waiting to be told. This blog will be a place where words and images work together to capture the beautiful, the fleeting, the real.

Thanks for being here. Truly. In the future, we’ll talk.
